Alongside stalls and larger installations, the festival has an accompanying programme: meetings with architects, designers' lectures and workshops. Skórková said the organisers managed to bring the entire Archi Lounge programme to Ostrava. A large installation by architects from the Mjölk studio deals with the mistake, the theme of this year's Meat Design.
Flat, house and young authors
One of the main points of the programme is a fully furnished flat of 25 square metres. Visitors can see how functionality, comfort and aesthetics can be combined in a small space.
The festival also extended into the unfinished house Václav in the centre of Ostrava. Its owner prepared guided tours and a special event in the spaces of the future flats and commercial units. novinky.cz

Students of VŠB-TUO: SC Titan and ceramics
The Faculty of Materials Science and Technology of VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava presents a thematic exhibition, a fashion show and a lecture. Students use them to show that deviations from expectations, imperfections and unexpected results can stand at the beginning of new ideas.
One of the exhibits is SC Titan, a four-seat electric car developed by the faculty together with the Industrial Design studio of the Faculty of Multimedia Communications at Tomas Bata University in Zlín. The source describes the vehicle not only as a showcase of industrial design but above all as a mobile research laboratory linking materials engineering, electromobility and modern technologies.
The Ostrava students also present ceramic vases made by 3D printing of clay materials, on which they show how production imperfections can be turned into a deliberate artistic element. They also exhibited their own ideas for orthoses, corsets, neck collars and other medical aids. In the students' view, a medical device does not have to be merely a functional aid but can also be a fashion accessory or a piece of jewellery. novinky.cz
